Homemade Marinade for Grilled Chicken (Alpha-Gal Friendly and Dairy Free)

Grilled chicken is on the weekly menu at my house in the summer, so when I was diagnosed with Alpha-Gal Syndrome, it was one of the first things I mastered!

This recipe uses another ingredient I make myself(good thing its super quick to make!): Brown Sugar (Alpha-Gal Friendly)

Grilled Chicken Marinade (Alpha-Gal Friendly)

Want to grill out but don’t know what to grab to make it tasty? Look no further! Quick, easy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs

  • 1/2 cup of soy sauce (At time of writing this recipe, ‘Kikkoman Soy Sauce’ was listed green/safe on the FIG app for alpha-gal.)

  • Juice of 2 lemons

  • 4 TBSP of brown sugar (you can find my homemade Alpha-Gal friendly version HERE)

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 TBSP olive oil

  • 1 Tsp black pepper

  • 2 TBSP onion powder

  • 1 TBSP smoked paprika

Directions

  • In a medium bowl or zip-to bag, mix together the soy sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, garlic, olive oil, and all seasoning.
  • Add chicken and toss to coat well. Marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, ideally 2-4 hours. (12 hours max)
  • Pre-heat grill to medium high. remove chicken from marinade and grill until internal temp reaches 165′. Always let your grilled chicken rest 5 minutes before serving.
